Wouldn't it be nice to move without pain?
Any exercise regimen for obesity can be a trigger for anxiety, sadness, and fear. It is hard to move well once we have reached a certain size and it is easy to get caught up in a spiral of negative emotions surrounding our inability to exercise to even a "light-moderate" intensity.
In addition, after being told over and over again that our bodies are not worthy of respect or care, it can be incredibly confronting to begin any sort of structured (or spontaneous) movement.
Focusing on regaining freedom of movement through gentle stretching and strength training is one way to handle some of these feelings. Stress and anxiety are understandable, but they don't have to be all there is.
